Authentic Food Journal

Write for us

We welcome pitches that make the path behind food easier to see, whether the subject is a crop, an ingredient, a harvest rhythm, a sourcing term or a familiar food with an overlooked origin.

What makes a good pitch

Send a focused proposal with a working title, the central question and a short explanation of what readers will understand by the end. We value original angles, clear reasoning and subjects that remain useful beyond a passing trend. Tell us what sources or kinds of evidence could support the piece, without claiming access you do not have.

The kind of work we seek

We are interested in reported explainers, carefully grounded histories, comparisons and useful guides to understanding food origins and pathways. Submissions should be readable, specific and fair to the limits of what is known. Avoid unsupported health claims, promotional copy and advice that depends on local rules.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your pitch. Include a brief note about your approach and any relevant writing samples or source material you can share. A proposal is not a commission, and we cannot promise publication.
